SHOCK WAVE THERAPY (SWT) IN ALMATY RESORT

Shock Wave Therapy (SWT) is a therapy that provides long-term pain relief and is one of the most effective treatments for musculoskeletal pain.

The principle of operation of the UVT apparatus is based on the following effects:

  • firstly , the shock wave destroys microcrystals of calcium salts, which, being deposited in the affected areas, lead to the emergence of a focus of chronic inflammation and cause pain. As a result of shock wave therapy, calcium salts “leave” along with the blood flow, the muscle or ligament gets rid of the “ballast”, it seems to get younger and, having restored its original structure and strength, begins to cope with the load offered to it;
  • secondly , under the influence of a shock wave, the chemical environment inside the focus of inflammation changes. After the first procedure, the pain dulls or disappears completely;
  • and thirdly , under its influence, new microvessels sprout into the former focus of inflammation, which contributes to the complete restoration of the affected area.

INDICATIONS FOR SHOCK WAVE THERAPY :

  • heel spur;
  • "tennis elbow";
  • shoulder-scapular syndrome;
  • deforming osteoarthritis;
  • osteochondrosis;
  • cellulites;
  • achillodynia;
  • knee tendinopathy (jumper's knees);

  • ecstosis of the joints of small joints in the case of the 1st stage of arthrosis;
  • pain in the palmar side of the wrist;
